Self Study 4 - ?saedI

Up.. is down?

I'm trying to resist the urge to paste all of this into a text-reverse thing(:

IDEA!

You're a notorious pirate captain and you stumble upon a mystical object that gives you a glimpse into the future.

"Oh no!" you shout, "It's a capitalist hellscape! Not on my watch!" you say, confused for you do not know what a watch is.

You are Captain Takseevejun, notorious plunderer of the high seas, and you have now resolved to not accumulate wealth at all - but to send it to the depths.

Your purpose now is to decimate the economy, you'll not see any individual or single organisation hoard wealth while you still draw breath. The only plunder you or your crew want is an egalitarian future for generations to come.

"Yarr. 'Egalitarian' be havin' too many syllables for me" you say.

"Sink ships and become the most fearsome left-wing pirate of the high seas in this probably highly politically charged adventure"

Target Audience:
Specifically, fans of pirates and pirate-themed games (AC4, POTCO, Sea of Thieves etc), but broadly, fans of action-adventure games & 3rd person shooters).
About it:
This might be a bit ambitious but I think it has legs (sea legs, if you will). Potential style could be very broad so a prototype would have to focus heavily on how the game feels because naval combat can be really tricky to get right. If done correctly though, I believe this has strong potential as a really over-the-top, fun, wacky-themed shoot 'em up that I'd personally love to play.

IDEA TWO
AEDI OWT

A maze - but you're the world's best gardener and you control the maze - try and beat one or more pathfinding algorithms at increasing speed to prevent AI from getting to the middle!

I believe a good implementation of this could be a fixed POV from like an 80 degree angle but you can rotate completely around the maze. Implement different obstacles and shift the maze to prevent AI from making it through.

Gain resources by completely closing off an AI unit and letting the earth reclaim it. Use resources to build additional obstacles in the maze or send your own AI units!

Target Audience:

Anyone with an interest in fast-paced low-strategy or Tower Defence games
