Self Study Week 1!

Barrel!

Barrel!

Self Study Module 1 - Gain a deeper understanding of how far a human can go in a high-stress environment before death (read: learn the basics of Blender).

Yeah so, I'm not entirely sure if 3D modelling is for me. Brackey's Introduction to Blender was a great start, having never done this before, and I enjoyed(?) it! I created per his instructions, the barrel pictured above. It was actually really satisfying having the completed product - one thing I particularly enjoy about studying ICT is creating something out of nothing, and that feels markedly more tangible here.

Part two of the exercise was to find a tourist location in Tasmania, and model an object you can find there (ie. you can model a bin, but it can't be any bin, it must be the bin at, say, MONA.
I've recently done a major overhaul to my archery club's website (I'll update with a link soon update: link) in exchange for free shooting (handy! I'm competing at nationals in October and I need the practice) and I thought I'd like to model a target face/butt from the range. I'd argue that a local niche activity is probably interesting to tourists? right?

Anyway, here's what I made:

Target

Target!

It's kinda primitive and low-res but I had fun making it and I think it really solidified the basics of what I learned from Brackey. Thanks Brackey!
